A rare registered rate, adopted on Dec 25, a new rate was introduced whereby Canada and a number of British Dominions and possessions agreed to a uniform rate of 2 cents per half ounce. During that time Dec 25 and Dec 31, the USA rate stayed the same, until changed from 3c per half ounce to 2 on January 1, 1899.

During the 6 days, it is the only time it was cheaper to send to a foreign destination than to the USA, and a registered cover at that! Cover has a bit of wear. This item is in the category "Stamps\Canada\Covers".
